Every day of 2011 I created a new artwork using the iPad as a tool. Each image built off of the last. This is a film shows the project as a whole. The viewer may pause to look at individual images longer. As a painter, I was skeptical, hesitant to accept digital art on equal footing as traditional fine art media. Part of the impetus for this project was to determine for myself whether or not it can be art with a capital "A." It can. Digital art is just another medium, and whether or not art is made from it depends on whose hands are involved, just as every tube of oil paint produced doesn't make it into a great painting. Painting does things that digital art can not, and vice versa. The main quality that I love about digital work is the light from the screen, so that the image is illuminated like stained glass. I shall continue to work in both mediums, but will not be posting for a while due to a new project. Enjoy!
